An exploration as a photographic artist into the tangible world of film. It’s a favorite medium of mine that I come back to over and over again to create unique bodies of artistic work celebrating film, travel and culture. These works have been exhibited and published worldwide and you can view them here.
INFRARED NEW ZEALAND
A unique road trip takes a turn and becomes other worldly on discontinued 35mm infrared colour film. The north and south island of New Zealand was beautiful to begin with and being able to pair a rare film with such picturesque landscape was a recipe for artistic creation. A lot of time was spent contemplating the perfect frame before it was shot and care taken in shooting such an old film.
SOMEWHERE IN NEWTOWN
An Australian documentary photography series captured on 35mm film over 8 months in the heart of Sydney's Inner West suburb, Newtown. Newtown's street subculture has become an undeniable identification for the area. A look into the normalization of illegal street art integrated in suburban life. The untouched scenes have something to discover and are dynamic with rich context about Newtown as they are about street art and the interaction of art meets life within the captured frames.
